Ulnar Diaphyseal Stress Fracture of the Nondominant Arm in a Tennis Player of Two-Handed Backhand Stroke

Abstract

|
The stress fractures of upper extremity are not frequently seen in a sports medicine. The stress fracture of ulnar diaphysis is rare. Even more the ulnar diaphysis stress fiacture by tennis playing is very rare and had not been reported in Korea We report a case of stress fracture of ulnar shaft in the nondominarit arm of a professional tennis player who use a two-handed backhand stroke. Physical examination revealed localized tenderness at the site of ulnar diaphysis and plain X-ray revealed an mild periosteal reaction and Bone scan showed increased uptake at the point of fatigue fracture.
